Glock questions

I own a Glock 19 gen4 and compete in GSSF matches with it regularly. I love this thing and choose it over my gen3 usually. I like the more grip texture more and the larger magazine release. The glock triggers aren't as nice as some others but I always come back to it. I have many thousands of rounds through it left stock and never a malfunction. I shoot factory ammo as well as my fmj reloads without problem.

Just curious, what branch of the military did you serve?

I served more than 10 years in the Marine before heading back over there. It was great and all but it was time to move on. As for the movie part. Yeah right, I'm pretty normal and boring really. Just love my Firearms and enjoy making a living with them at times.

If your planning on carrying it I would get a g26 or 19 and just use a pinky extension. Glock 17 is huge. I have owned both 17 and 26 but this is my new go to gun.

Since something was brought to my attention by a member here I will address this to everyone. My intent was not to claim the above guns shown in the picture as my own or solely my ideas. This was the work of several (Professional Shooters, and a wife)to make one BA Glock that could be for carry or competition if needed. The end result was this. Hope you all liked them and sorry for an misrepresentation and not clarifying.

Now back to the Fing guns, lets see some more cool stuff.

Just curious, though I imagine you can't be specific, what type of MOS/work did you do in the Marines? And I'm assuming you did something similar when you got out?


So I went to the gun store on Friday and held the G19 Gen 4 again, and for $600, I almost thought about buying it right then and there. I'm gonna sleep on it another night or two, but I would really like to buy it. This would be my first pistol, and if Glocks are like Toyotas, I can't think of a better way to go. Feedback or thoughts are definitely appreciated.

I don't think you can go wrong really. My only thought would be to work on the price a little. You can get one shipped to you for around $500, so by the time you pay FFL it's probably about $60-70 cheaper. Maybe see if they will do $550 or throw in some range ammo, accessories, or better yet a trigger job. I don't think you can go wrong with the G19. Read up on glocktalk too to see if there are any common issues with the 4th gen.

I had a good career that I loved and enjoyed. I was not some High Speed Low Drag Operator but lets just say I drank the Coolaid in many places and did some really cool stuff along the way. I was very lucky that I had good guys around me through out all my deployments. I started out as a Machine gunner in a Marine Raider company. Worked my way up and became a Infantry Plt. Sgt. That is it in a nut shell. Thank you for the kind words.

I carry safe action Glocks and compete with single action 2011-style pistols as well; I shoot both platforms equally well in their respective roles, and with respect to Glocks prefer the gen3 over any of the newer offerings
