What’s up y’all? So this has been a work in progress for many years, just doing what I can when I can (time and $$$ permitting) my last on going venture for my 3rd gen was building a armored front bumper and custom grill with built-in light bar with fog lights and amber grill markers. I finally got a cnc plasma table at my shop and have been learning CAD so it’s definitely elevated my fab skills and it’s been an very fun journey although I built the bumper before I had a plasma cnc. It was done the old fashioned way with tape and cardboard lol. So far, I’ve:
* replaced the starter
*replaced alternator
*replaced radiator
* replaced timing belt, valve cover gaskets, belts, spark plugs & wires, front main seal, new cam and crank sensors, new idler arm pulleys, hoses etc.
*rebuilt supercharger
*replaced trans (Toyota reman trans)
*replaced AC pump and high pressure line(wore a hole in it)
*replaced front coil overs, front brakes and rotors, rear brakes, rear 4 link bars and 3” lift springs, new uni-ball UCAs.
*replaced upper and lower control arm bushings, replaced lower ball joint (oem Toyota) replaced swaybar bushings
*rebuilt rack and pinion and bushings, inner and outer tie rods (oem Toyota)
* fabricated extended sway bar heim joint connectors w/ new bushings.
*repainted side cladding and fender flares in gun metal grey to match new kmc XD wheels and Toyo open country MT 35s
*Added front diff drop
* fabricated rear pan hard bar drop.
*fabricated armored custom bumper with 1/4” aluminum skid plate and rigid 20” light bar with morimoto projector fog lights and amber grill marker lights.
I’m definitely forgetting some stuff but that’s the main things I’ve done to it over the last 5 years.
Still lots more to go and I’m now sure I’ll ever be done lol.
Anyway, I’m still plugging away on this 3rd gen. I’ll post more soon. I’m thinking of repainting the truck soon and doing all new glass and rubber as well as new MT tires and doing the fox coil over upgrade.
