Glove box #74 Sylvania lights not fitting

Lame topic, I know. Tried (2) brand new 74s to fit and they just pop out. Tried spreading the connecting pins so it would grab but no luck. Strange, as it looks identical to the burned out one. Any thoughts?

I tried changing mine too and my problem is the #74 bulb I bought is not as long as the one that came out. It's a very tiny difference but not long enough. I gave up.

Same issue here, I don't know how all the people on here are getting 74's into that plug. 74's are not long enough. I went to the dealer for the bulbs and they were like $5 each. I did see a bulb at Oreily's that i thought would have fit but the wattage was a little off so I thought it may not be very bright. Don't remember what the number on that bulb was though.

Sucks, but I'm glad I'm not the only one! I found some LED #74 conversions online, but they don't look like they'd work. If anyones figured this one out, please post! Its a nice feature to have when driving through the mountains pitch black.
