Yes it is covered. My extended warranty even covered it. I just had it replaced yesterday...even if you can't get it covered the part was only $22
I've changed out my incabin air filter a bunch of times and often disconnect that little shock. There are two holes, and one of them pops back into a plastic nub. I don't remember which, but I doubt the part is broken. Compress it and see if it's operational. If so, reconnect the hinge before closing. It may take a little finesse trying to get the tab on the left side of the box to get into position, but it shouldn't be a major issue. Report back with your findings![]()
