Gobi Ladder Installation/Fitment Question

I was wondering if anyone could give any pointers on how to get the ladder to fit correctly. When the hangar plate is seated flush, the ladder is not level as well as not sitting completely flush with the bottom of the tail gate. I can adjust the ladder to get most of the lower mount flush, but the hangar plate slides forward and comes in contact with the body of the vehicle (already scraped a bit of paint when I opened the hatch not knowing it moved forward [doh]).

The hangar plate was already replaced by Gobi due to one of the screws being welded at a slight angle, which didn't allow the ladder to mount to the plate.

I am usually mechanically savvy, but this ladder has me thrown for a bit of a loop. -_-". Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this helps, but you have to mount the top of the ladder then have someone put weight on it to make it bend slightly and pull down to the lower mount.

Should I be worried?

Put my ladder up yesterday, everything was flush, level (beides on step that isnt exactly square).

Went out this evening and the top of the ladder didnt look level anymore. Climbed up and found the bracket on the ride side has shifted up and now the ladder isnt sitting flat on the top.

Is this going to cause any issues? Anyone else experience this?

I did mine exactly as [MENTION=50591]gaterose[/MENTION] said, mounted the top and then put some weight on it and pulled it down so the bottom would sit flush and secured the bottom.It probably would have helped if i had a extra hand when putting weight on it and pulling it down to keep the pressure on it while i secured the bottom. Other than everything went on and worked out fine,i've used it numerous times with no issues..

lol same here-- I laid down on the ground and kinda did a pull up on mine while I attached the bolts.

I did the same but then that happened. I have no Idea why, you can see the white adhesive was over the edge and lined up right. Im going to email Gobi to figure if its an issue or not.

Sorry I somehow missed your post when I replied. It looks fine to me, but might be better to get some input in the 5th gen section.

As long as it feels sturdy and doesn't contact the paint anywhere it shouldn't, you should be fine. I believe mine shifted slightly after installing it so that the adhesive is showing too.

No worries, and yeah its solid no rubbing I can tell of, just moved after the install. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the reply guys. I will hopefully be getting it on soon, now that school is finally over for the semester.
