Sandra HAS been great- except for one thing.
Everytime I call- 3 times for the ladder so far- she tells me it's "shipping the beginning of next week". Others in this thread have said the same thing. I will happily wait for a product that is free of flaws, but PLEASE just give me a date and stick to it. If it won't be ready on that date, due to powder coating, design tweaks, whatever-call ME and let me know.
That is customer service, small shop, or big.
IMO they had no business offering a group buy with a free LADDER that wasn't even fully designed yet. ?????

Responsiveness of Sandra
When I was purchasing the GOBI Sandra was nice and responsive including responding to my emails.
However I have sent two emails (one late last week and one today) without response. I am just curious when I can expect the roof rack that is already like 10 days later than the estimate she provided me when I ordered the roof rack.
For now I am giving the benefit of the doubt and thinking maybe she is on vacation, jury duty, or sick and they do not have a replacement to pick up her duties.
While I am being understanding I really do desire to know when I can expect the rack.
Maybe I should have started pestering before the rack was expected ... I gave it a little time after is was expected to start inquiring.
If I am happy with the product then I can live with waiting a little longer. It is similar to having to wait for Christmas.

I think Gobi is suffering from "small company with to much too much success in to short a time" syndrome. I'm not sure how large the group buy ended up being, but I ended up getting my rack a bit later than expected as well (the invoice showed up the day I was going to call).
I'm taking a delivery today, but now I'm curious what will actually be on the truck; the invoice obviously has both the rack and ladder listed.
Sandra has been nice on the phone, but communication via email has been spotty at best. That points in my mind to a person who may be overworked and who is dealing with "fires" first. hence the phone calls get answered, but the email sorta disappears in the black hole.
I'll post some pics of what came off the truck tonight.

I spoke with Sandra yesterday, and she told me that it should be shipping next week. I had placed the order a week before the group buy ended, and was originally told the end of June, or first week of July. So two weeks late isn't too big of a deal for me.
I asked her about the ladder, and she said they are coming in tomorrow, and may or may not ship with the rack at the same time, but if not, it should be received shortly after. However the insert should be with the rack.

haha I dropped everything I was doing to install mine as soon as it was off the truck. Tried to explain why I was canceling our plans to my GF but she just didn't understand....
That is exactly how my box looked (with no ladder inside).
Just got an email from Sandra. ladders are back from paint and shipping starts Tuesday. As she put it, there are going to be a lot of happy people end of next week.

I have had my rack for quite a while and I am very pleased with it. It is nice looking and rugged.
Bear in mind that these are made in the USA, by a small company, this means that they have to manage working capital (inventory of finished goods and raw materials). If they don't to a good job of that, it is easy to get overextended and then they will not be able to pay their bills. Only the fatcats on wallstreet, and the POS in DC, can live beyond their means all the time.
A bit of a wait for a fellow American working hard to make a living is not that big of a deal. You will not be disappointed.

tie down/net recommendation for Gobi Stealth
For anyone that has used their Gobi Stealth to carry things, what tie downs or nets have you used?
I should be getting mine soon, I hope, got my invoice a day ago. Mostly looking to carry camping equip, such as tent, etc.

I have a completely flat BajaRack (not a basket, but a utility rack) and a Yakima Loadwarrior stretch net works well to keep ±300lbs in place for over 5,000 miles. You'd be surprised how much gravity gives you. Any quality stretch net should be fine on the Gobi basket.
Received my invoice Monday, and just got the call from the shipping company that delivery is today!!! Will post if insert and ladder are included. Thanks for arranging this Reklov! Now I need to start formulating my plans for installation of the rack and my incoming roof top tent.
