Gobi racks, light bars and CAR WASHES?

Hello all... so I have a 5th gen T4R and am seriously considering getting a Gobi rack and possible light bar to add a bit more storage and light the way on sunrise runs on the beach. BUT... then I thought... what's the impact (being this is obviously a daily driver, yada yada) of running through the local carwash every week? Your experiences and thoughts would be much appreciated!

My bf's dodge had 4 lights on his bumper, one of the spinning mop things took the cover off of one and flung it around the bay like shrapnel! But the lights were OK.
I think it'd be fine, just no covers on the lights...
OR...
You could just wash it by hand?

If its completely necessary for the car wash then I'd at least go to a touch-less one. But I don't know. I wash by hand!

Use a touchless wash and you wont have a problem. I had Hellas on my F150 and never had a problem with it.

would NEVER go through any other automatic carwash than a touch less. too much can go wrong in those shitty mop ones

I took mine through a brush carwash a few times. Just unscrewed my CB antenna and drove in. No problems.

Ditto, I've been through several with the rack and light bars and the only trouble I've had was losing a light cover once but I got it back. I also have a hi lift and a ladder.

I try to wash it by hand, but I don't seem to do a good job...

edit- depending on what kind of lights you have they may need reaiming, but not light bars. Also, they don't clean well behind the ladder or under the rack
