What's to stop people from posting what they paid? All it takes is one guy to post a lower price for all hell to break loose.

(1) The price for THIS GB has not been set yet.

(2) If you sign up, you will be sent the order instructions with pricing/options WHEN they become available and WHEN it is your turn (some will get to order first, as they signed up first...... and first to order = first to ship, generally, while some shuffling *may* happen due to manufacturing/inventory details)

(3) If we, as a group, do not abide to the rules/agreements with the vendors/manufacturers, they are likely to NOT WILLING to do GROUP BUYS anymore...... so, I guess, if one person want to "ruin it for everyone else", they can do it..... (that happened before, and some very good vendors were pissed off, and we are not likely to see a group buy on them anymore......*hint* *hint* some roof top tents....)

(4) Now, even if someone post "lowered price" from before like 2012, that won't help me negotiating deals AT ALL.... materials had gone up, labor cost had gone up, shipping cost had gone up, retail prices had gone up...... trying to cry about a price in the past is completely useless..... (I'd loved to purchase google stock @ $380 a piece.... DUH!!) I'm pretty sure none of us is stupid enough to try to WAIT for that price to "come back", so, I doubt there will be HELL....

(5) Lastly, I am pretty sure that we will be getting the LOWEST possible CURRENT price. You just have to have patience and stick with me. (Or not.... you have free will, and choice...... it's your money....... but I've got track record...)

I was just trying to understand the no price posting thing. I am confident the price here will be lower than I would be able to get on my own. And what I meant about posting a lower price was that what if the number 5 guy and number 15 guy on this list buy the same thing but number 5 says he paid 1000 and number 15 says he paid 1100, that would raise the eyebrows. Excite d to move forward... Keep up the good work with the group buys.

Can I just add my name onto the list to see how much of a discount we'd get? If it's low enough, I'll purchase. If not, then I'll just purchase it when it's more convenient (traveling and Christmas presents take precedence).

I don't understand the logic here..... this is not an auction nor it is a "OBO" deal.... this is a GB.... when the deal is finalized, everyone get the same deal....

No price posted practice is somewhat due to MAP of some vendors/manufacturers, also so that people who come late, is not going to go hassle the vendor/manufacturer on giving them GB prices when no GB is ongoing.

You'll pay the vendor directly at time of purchase (just like any online shopping). If you don't want to buy you don't have to. Understand that the standard lead time from Gobi could be anywhere from 6-12 weeks and likely on the longer end for this buy since we're dumping a big order on them.
