From what I have seen on previous GB's and just Gobi orders in general you can expect the freight company to call you a few days before delivery.

Why the rush guys? It IS a group buy and of course we have about 100 people so it will take some time for the company to manufacture these.. Be grateful for the discount and be patient. We all love stuff coming in the mail trust me I got small stuff coming throughout the week and it's like Christmas every day haha! But unless you're going on some kind of expedition this winter then what's the rush ? (I'm just wondering not trying to be a douche)

I agree, this group buy couldn't have come at a better time for me. I'll be snowboarding all winter and really won't need the rack until spring when my plan is to put a RTT on it for camping season. So 12 to 16 weeks really doesn't matter to me, I could even be the last person to get their rack really doesn't matter.

It is a good chunk of $$. If you don't care about where your money is going it is your choice, some of us do, and i'm sure many have their reasons.

In my case, I need to be as up to date as possible since mine is being shipped to a shop which will rhino it for me; I have to update the shop as soon as I have any info.

Of course I care where my money goes but it's not like this is some unknown company or individual that no one has used before. As long as they update me with the shipping info once it's being shipped then it's all good.

Friday will be my 4 weeks since I ordered! Time flies! I was told 4 - 8 weeks. I think I was the first person to order here..? I was anticipating more of the 8 week mark than the 4, but I went ahead and emailed to check status. I want to make sure I am home for it's delivery.

[MENTION=124456]CWebb[/MENTION], please don't get your hope too high. You might have gotten one of their canned message regarding "4-8" weeks lead time.

From the 1st post: "Production lead time is 8-12 weeks." And then probably delivery(freight/trucking them around the country) can be as much as 2 weeks.

As long as they update me with the shipping info once it's being shipped then it's all good.

They won't miss you, the freight company will call you, and setup an appointment for the exact delivery. It will be like Sears delivering a fridge or a washing machine to you. It will not be like USPS just dropping it off.

So far list isn't going too great...
Because there's no way to differentiate between participants. And only recieved pms and information from less than a handfull of individuals.

Now you can tell me how difficult to do one of these GBs. And altho your "original" idea seems like a "good idea", you can tell me now, whether it is "easy" to implement!

I know how hard these group buy can be ... I've done one in Calguns Forum for NiB and the ECIG forums back when I was a manufacturer for electronic cigarettes. The difference here is your not the go between and you never handled the money; in those instances...I did..

Dont get me wrong...I know how hard it was to organize people. And I appreciate you taking them time to set almost this up for us. All I said it should be easy to formulate a list of people who paid and when they paid. Easy; if everyone participated. Not how easy it was to organize this group buy.

Does anyone know where I can buy those specialized bins so I can actually used my roof rack when it gets here ??? I know for sure pelican makes then but HOT DAMN!!!! not paying no $600 to $1000 for 2 bins...

I personally use pelican, hardrigg, underwater kinetics cases..... all of them are super rugged, but high cost (but buy once only). I had seen people using stuff from your local homedepot etc... they should be ok depending on your usage.

I have also talked to Raingler Net, we will be doing another Raingler Net GB soon. That's an AWESOME pairing, Gobi and Raingler Net.....

I absolutely love these totes. They're water tight and very tough. They're also stackable, lockable (as much as a plastic container can be) and easy to strap down. The only downside is they're about the max height of something I want on the roof but you can get plenty of gear in them. I keep camping stuff organized in them so that I can be loaded and out the door in 15 minutes for spontaneous trips.

Has anyone come up with a way to keep your stuff on the roof from growing legs?

I have some ideas of a product that would prevent it, but can't find it anywhere.
