Gobi Sun Roof Insert

I've researched it as much as I could but I can't seem to find any information on the operation of the sun roof with the insert installed. Can anyone help and tell me if the sun roof will still open and close with the insert installed or do I have to remove the insert?

On my 5th gen, it still opens. There's about 3 inches of room between the insert and the glass. But if you wanted to take the insert out, it literally comes off in 1 minute or less.
