So when i hit a bump theres this horrible squeak and i dont have much knowledge about vehicles so i gave in and asked the stupid question. What in the world could it be?
Sorry, i should have been. Its coming from the rear and sounds like something needs greased or maybe a bushing... It was greased when i had my tires put on...1000 miles ago
i have a squeak too... it happens when i go over a bump... sounds like a stress kind of squeak from the front... like stepping on an old wood floor. i can recreate by stepping on the breaks or going over a bump. i'm curious to see everyone's ideas
sounds like it could be a u-joint. i had a very loud sqeaking and took FOREVER to figure it out, but it did it when goin over bumps and in reverse only. replace the far most u-joint by the axle and wala. no more noise. Not positive but you can give it a shot.
lol, thats quite a bit of stuff. our rear ends have a four link suspension. Check all your bushing back there. You have have bushings for a sway bar link, and ones for your trailor arms ( i believe thats what their called not sure so call me a dumba** if im wrong lol. but there is alot so just go over everything first, and you could save some money.
figured mine out this weekend... i got under my truck and had a few friends jump on the truck to make it move so i can pin point it... mine was my rear upper control arm bushings making noise... gonna have them replaced but i sprayed wd40 on them to get them to shut up
Thanks guys! It kills me having that noise and im saving for a car but i wouldnt mind to spend the money to get old stuff replaced... I just gotta do it lol
