Going from 20" to 18" on a Limited - Questions

Not comparing to the stock size tire, only comparing to 275/55/20 which isn't a major difference I guess but still some . Sidewall is 5.95

Thanks for the feedback. In addition to brake caliper clearance, I think the 18's look much nicer too. Great pic of your ride. If you get a chance, do you have a side profile shot of your 4R? :thanks:

As promised here's a sifted shot of the 4Runner with the new wheels/tires. This was at the start of the day. By the time we drove to Falling Man petroglyphs (near Mesquite, NV) and then drive over the mountain (80 miles from NV to Az and then to UT) the car was a mess. Mud from top to bottom.

I like your style... went with the same wheel but different tires. I went with 275's for now with no lift, but plan to move up to 285's later. I really don't notice any effect on the XREAS or ride quality. Here are a couple of old pics.

I can't remember exactly, but i think $900 for 5 w/ stock tires? Maybe a little less.. It took me a good few of months to find a set. I checked surrounding areas within a 300 mi radius on Craigslist and was lucky enough to find one down in Long Beach so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping.

I guess you can say cornering is a little stiffer with the increased width. Not too much a difference...to me a least.

Right backspacing but you may rub on body mount depending on tire. What off road wheel offering 10 inch? Careful with weight and make sure its going to hold up.

I paid about $650 for the set on ebay, got pretty lucky on the price. Handling with them and the Michelin tires is actually a bit stiffer. I put a fair amount of highway miles on, 22k in 10 months so far, and the Michelins look like new.

I broke down and bought 20's. 20x9 with +12 offset. Black Rhino Imperial (Silver finish). 275/55/20 Michelin M/S2's. A coworker of mine has a similar setup on his Tundra...took me for a ride during rain/monsoon storm last week through a job site and I was sold.

Wheels are supposed to be delivered to Discount on Thursday.

Looking at the same wheels personally. But I have not been able to find the specs on the 4th gen 18's. Do they have the same offset as the 5th gen wheels?
