Going from Multimode to J-shift

At the risk of beating a dead horse....I've been looking for some definitive information on swapping a J-shift t-case for my temperamental multimode t-case and haven't been able to find any. I know I'll lose my awd function, but I'm tired of being stuck in awd and would like to be able to have true 4wd. My plan is to pick up a j-shift t-case and matching driveshafts. From what I've read it the swap shouldn't be overly complicated, but I'd like some advice on what to expect or if mine line of thought is wrong.

I've already gone through most of the troubleshooting options. I've replaced both switch on the t-case actuator. For those of you that will recommend this thread:
4WD won't disengage on 99 4Runner LTD - YotaTech Forums

(It's a great thread w/ lots of good info, but doesn't help me)

The 01-02 runners don't have that switch on the front diff.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I did it. Got rid of ALL the ADD stuff. If you want to know how it's done, just shoot me a PM. It's really easy to do....

If it is any consolation, I got my muti mode system to work in a non j-shift (Sequoia) transfer case.

Awd drive works
Center diff lock works
2 low works

Simple a freak of nature or something.

If I could get mine to work consistently I'd keep the multi-mode. It has worked on and off for the last 18 months or so, but hasn't for the last 4 months. I'm stuck in AWD. Can't lock the center diff or engage 2WD.

Is there an easy way to check it? From what I've read if it is bad it's an expensive fix. At that point it's cheaper for me to swap the case.
