I must have got lucky a few years ago. I had an extra pallet of bricks from landscaping and stacked them in the 4Runner and took them to habitat for humanity

I was worried about my rubber cones inside the springs hitting when I hit large bumps doing 45 on the highway, but I guess I shouldn't worry too much since it usually happens with 600 lbs of people and gear and over half a tank of gas.

Those cones aren't true bump stops as far as I understand. They are intended to soften the blow in case you hit the real ones located on the axle. I don't think those hitting the axle is too big of a deal.

I'm slowly coming to this awareness, and your statement helps. When I drove my old CR-V I didn't give a **** about anything, but with my Runner I obsess about everything.
