Gold lake group run (May 3rd-5th)

Fun trip guys! We had a great time. Thanks for coming out. Now I gotta figure out what I broke! She's got a slight vibe over 55mph. Oh well, so worth it. By far the funnest/scariest wheeling so far. When and where is the next trip!

The first obstacle was a mean tree. Jessica got a lil scrape and so did my poor truck. We filled all the holes in with rocks which made it much easier.

And Jon I haven't forgotten are fearless leader that decided to take on any and all obstacles to get the team there. You have one mean machine there. It was an honor to meet you and will be waiting for the next adventure.

I will be coming with my rig only and have no problem running right behind you just to get stuck do to not being a mean machine built like yours.

Awesome. As far as trail carnage, is this trail doable without armor? I'm stock open/open with a 2" lift right now. I'll be working on getting some sliders this summer but money is tight for now.

The trails we hit this weekend were definitely doable without trail armor.

I currently have 2" lift F/R and Open / Open, and I have run all the trails I was planning to run. I have only hit one of the sliders enough to chip the paint on one side (about 1/2" scratch). Had the sliders not been there, I doubt I would have hit the body, it was such a light touch.

It all comes down to picking the right line, and taking your time, but definitely doable.

Looked like Snake Lake was a little more technical, maybe requiring armor. The things we ran you could do without armor.

That's the beauty - we could all plan on one trail, meet up and hit the trailhead and if it's not do-able for everyone we can always truck it 20 min down the road and find one of five other trails to go run and camp at.

Can't wait to go up there after finals. I go up to ride mountain bikes at Downieville a lot and have always wanted to go ride some trails in my truck. I'll be looking out for the next group run!

So, was that you cutting through my camp last weekend. LOL. I remember the days that mountain bikers and kayakers never knew of that area.

Then next trip I'll be dragging the entire family along. They're pretty jealous.

I pulled both CV's and replaced the Master Pro from Oreilly's since it had a lot more play on the outer joint than the Napa one. Both have lifetime warranty, just my little experiment to see which is stronger. The vibe is gone but I'm not convinced it was the CV. Nothing was loose. We'll see. I might need to take it back to Firestone that did the alignment in March. If you have pics that you want in it, post them here and I can toss them in.

Sailor Jerry is telling me that this vid need dubstep with help from Pandora. Only problem is that I cant get any new songs since my phone is busted. If I find a good one I'll have to wait till Sat to finish when I get the new one. Another Galaxy S3 that's not a defective POS.
