Gonna get the Eclipse Nav unit....But....

Okay...I have decided to get the Eclipse Navigation system. I have the standard JBL Single Disc sound system in my 05 4runner. What do I need besides the unit and the sirius tuner? Does this work well with the JBL sound system? Does it allow surround sound? Does it have a mute in line to where I could add an aftermarket bluetooth car kit? I have read the thread in the audio forum already, but would like concise and straight forward answers to my above questions. Thanks for any help.

I have the AVN 5435 unit w/ Sirius and can answer some of your questions.

Since you have the JBL in there now, you would have to rewire all the door speakers or find some way to bypass the JBL amp in the rear cargo area and tap into the existing speaker wires. As far as I know, there is no "plug and play" wire harness for the JBL system. The Eclipse is just like any other aftermarket headunit EXCEPT that it comes with a harness to plug directly into the steering wheel controls. I chose to wire mine up to an external 4 channel amp for all 4 door speakers and the 2 tweeters up front. I also have a separate 2 channel amp for my alpine sub.
No, you won't have surround sound anymore.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a mute in line.
If you don't mind a little work getting the speakers wired up, I think it's a great unit.

There is a group buy on another site for the AVN 5435 and the AVN 5495.

Here is the info:

Eclipse AVN-5435 (*MSRP $1899.99*)
$1660 + shipping (1 - 5 people) $239.99 SAVINGS!
$1560 + shipping (5 or more) $339.99 SAVINGS!

Eclipse AVN 5495 (*MSRP $2699.99*)
$2050 + shipping (1 - 5 people) $649.99 SAVINGS
$1950 + shipping (5 or more) $749.99 SAVINGS

I don't know if it is against the T4R.org rules to post to another site or not. Here is the url:

I am looking at this Group Buy and will probably sell my 2005 NAV unit in favor of the 5435.

That's a good price... too bad you have to be a member to look at the tundra site.

all you have to do is pick a username and password to "view" most of the site as a registered member....to get in on this awesome deal just put in a 1yr subscription (its only $25) and wayyyyyyyy less than the $$$$$ you will save on the head units!!! Well worth it even if you never use the site again!!!! jump on over and give it a look!!!!
