Good Buy?

Hey newbie here. I am looking at buying a 1991 4Runner SR5 with the 3.0L V-6, automatic and 192,000 miles on it. The body and interior are actually really nice for the age of the vehcile. My concern is the high mileage. I have heard that Toyota engines are really realiable and I know that the 3.0L has head gasket problems. Any other major concerns for a 1991 4Runner with that many miles. The friend I'm thinking of buying it from only wants $500! For that price I find it hard to resist. Really love the look and capabilities of the 4Runner. Thanks guys for any input.

Wow, that sounds like a steal! Just check if he's ever replaced the head gasket. My '88 3.0 is at about 300,000 KM (not miles) and has never had a head gasket replacement and it's only had minor maintenance, nothing too major yet.
