Good buy?

Hi all, I just purchased a ARB bumper from a local off road store that has been in an accident. The passenger side was bent in when the lady hit a minivan. The guy at the off road store said he was going to pound it flat again and sell it, but I took it as is for $200. Anyone have any other suggestions than pounding this out and getting it powdercoated?

Pounding it will be very difficult. Have you got access to a port-a-power hydraulic ram or a winch or similar? You should try using one of those to pull the wing forward and back to its original location.
Was there any damage or deformation on the chassis brackets? The brackets have ripples in them for compliance with the airbag operation, and the passenger side one may have been 'crushed' a little. Compare the left and right brackets to ensure they are the same.

The brackets look fine, we did check them out when I picked it up.

The manager at the store told me that if I couldn't get it to work to bring it back and he would give me my money back so I guess its worth a try!
