wanted to be cool too. any way...now that im cool.... i wanted to let you guys know that i may have just become 1 lucky soab. my buddies dads gf has an 85 just like mine except it has little to no rust (i cut out most mine but still have some hidden). the running gear is all perfect and mine is showing its age. ive been tryen to get it for over a year but she liked it too much. 3 days ago the motor blew up and now shes contemplating letting it go. i should know soon. i just rebuilt my 22re 1k ago so between the 2 of em i could build one hell of a clean 85. im not sure if i want to switch the body onto my frame or put my 22re into its frame. i have done the motor but never swapped a body. which one is easier? my gut says to swap the motor but if i had the body off this would make it to where i could easily clean and paint the frame etc... if this falls through and she decides to keep it i also found a clean 87 body that i can pick up for 200. it would be nice to get all the parts with the 85 for a couple hundred more though. thoughts on body vs engine swap? thanks.

^ True that, there's sooo much involved in a body or frame swap. Meanwhile 22re swaps are quick and painless, by swap standards.

thanks for the reply. guess i was hopen a body swap would be 8 bolts and some wires. it can never just be easy lol

It's all bolts and wires, man. But there's more bolts and wires to get the body off, and it's harder to move around too.

FWIW, I love the idea of pulling the entire body and cleaning everything, just don't expect it to be easy.
