yeh man, this thing needs some help. that interior is ass ugly. gold emblems can be resprayed, and rust may be an issue

I'd never by a vehicle from the rust belt. Look at just about any vehicle with Ohio plates and they are generally rust buckets.
As said above that rust on the hitch - I can only imagine what the undercarriage looks like.
That being said - it's not been taken care of. The carpets while clean are dingy in that they were really filthy and cleaned, but you can't clean neglect.
The door panels are scuffed like a vehicle that has been used and abused.
Even the LED display is foggy like the vehicle has been sitting in the sun it's whole life.
IMO - that vehicle has been rode hard and put away wet way too many times. I'd pass just based on the pictures regardless the price.

It's a highlander... 99 SR5 with sport hood, skinny flares, etc... what's not highlander about it? Aside from the lame gold emblems...

Highlanders are a waste of money IMO. (If the seller knows thats its differert than other 3rd Gens)
If you plan on lifting it, once you change out the springs to OME or anything else its exactly same as any other 3rd Gen.
Rear lockers are a different story, and worth something.

Highlanders aren't really a big deal but they came with alot of goodies to make a slightly rarer model different than the others and came with some extras that would just cost more to duplicate on a regular SR5 like Limited wheels and the other features were standard vs options on the SR5 so when you buy a Highlander/Sport model you know you are definetly getting certain options like the sports seats,bigger brakes,fog lights and the scoop and color keyed grill and bumpers are a plus as I don't care for chrome which is why I specifically chose a Highlander model.
I wouldn't pass up a good deal on any 3rd gen just to buy a Highlander but if i was to do it over my only requirements would it would have to be still '99-00 model with a locker and sunroof otherwise I wouldn't be too picky.
