Good deal on 4th gen?

Still on the hunt to replace my current 2WD with a 4WD without breaking the bank.

Found a 2008 SR5 4x4 (V6) at a local dealer. It's a 1 owner, clean carfax rig with 98,000 on it. Looks like it was well taken care of. Have yet to test drive or see it in person but was wondering what some opinions are on the price. I've gotten him down to $16,000.00. Seem high or about right? Thanks

If you haven't seen or driven the rig, then there is no sense in trying to negotiate price. And if the dealer "came down" to $16,000 without you even being present in his dealership, then that means there is a ton more room to move since he's probably feeding you just enough to get you in the door.

Go look at it, drive it, and/or post a link so we can see the condition of the truck for ourselves and then we can give you a better idea if it's priced right.

Just bought a clean 2008 sport V6 with 114k miles on it for 15k at a Toyota dealership in NH. Got 4k for my 01 sport which I hated to get rid of, but it needed some work and I wanted a 4th gen so it was time. I was out of there for 11k net so I was happy with that.

Some major maintenance was due at about 90k I believe. Water pump and timing belt. I believe spark plugs are right around the corner at 110k. That's just a note should you have the other service done, couldn't hurt to get those done while in there.

I snagged my 07 V8 limited for 17k, included Yakima skybox and 2" OME lift. I went private party to avoid tax.

I have always had better luck buying private party, just have to be patient. I bought my 07 from dealer and overpaid, but it had 3rd row that we really wanted!

I will sell you mine for $10k more than the stealership. Mine has all the maintenance done. Brakes, new blizzak tires, has 65k miles and has Toyota CPO until 100k or the next 3 years.

All service done at Toyota. I'm 2nd owner.
