Good deal or no?

To OP:
IMHO: unfortunately, most of the time buying a vehicle is emotional (a lot of times spur moment decision) that is influenced by many objective and subjective factors… so decision as if it is “Good or bad deal” is essentially up to you.
In my opinion, from financial stand point and specific to 5th gen 4runners it is better to buy new…. But again, this is only from financial stand point (see my comments above).
Having said that, in 2016 I have purchased Silver 2013 4Runner Trail (KDSS) with 37k on the odometer for $32.5K: one owner, Toyota certified and looked brand new. It took me more than a year to find it…. Trail 4runners made from 2010 to 2013 are my favorite especially in silver (arguably the best looking and definitely the rarest 5th gen 4Runners made).:first:
No offence to anyone (as “look” and “feel” are very subjective), I do not like “softex” and still cannot get used to “new” 4Runners front….
eep: And that is after having a 2016 Trail premium for a week as a loaner… so buying new one was not an option for me…. and regardless of what others can think about my purchase I KNOW I got a great deal. :bravo:

An SR5 is not a trail premium. They are too different to compare prices against. You cant create a trail premium from an SR5 very easily, if at all.
Obviously, they are both very capable vehicles.

In my area? That's a stupidly good deal.
MSRP on a new TRD ORP with SR and KDSS is $42,800, you're looking at a difference of $9,300 for a new one.
Again, in MY area that is a ridiculously good deal even with the miles. Think of it like this, it's almost 2018, if this was one of the first 2016 models sold its closer to two years old than 1. Still highish miles, but not terribly IMO, based on my area.
On MSRP you'd pay an additional $130 or so a month for the new one.

Most people these days don't even keep these things through the duration of the finance now before trading in for a newer model.
The lower monthly payment of the used one leaves you more money each month to spend on wheels, tires, suspension, armor, etc. before you trade up for a 6th gen.
