2008 Toyota 4Runner Urban Runner

I've read on here and other places that the Urban Runners are basically Sport Editions with a head unit that looks good but functions poorly, and the suede/leather seats are different. Other than that, not much difference? I'm going to go look at an 08 V6 4x4 with 93k miles, and they're asking $16,800. Edmunds has the retail for it at $15,400. I don't know much about vehicles, but I called the guy (it's at a dealership), and he told me it's in good condition, clean carfax, clean interior, etc. I have a 04 v8 4x4 with 112k miles that I'd trade in for it.

Tell us more about your truck since you plan to trade it in. Is it also in good condition, have you done the 100k suggested mantenance? If i had to do it all over id stick with the truck you have, v8, one reason being they dont make them anymore. I cant answer your question really with out knowing the trade in value.

Mine spent 10 years up in Cleveland. I traded in a really nice tacoma for it last year because I needed to get rid of the payment. Not being from up north, I didn't know what was bad rust and not so bad rust. This has rust. It broke down on my move back to Arkansas (alternator), and when the tow guy was getting th vehicle onto the truck, the tow hooks on mine broke off from all the rust. The engine is fine, though. It runs smooth. I've put bilsteins all around and have bfg ats on it. The back door window doesn't work and neither does the rear windshield wiper. One of the wheel bearings is going bad, too. There's a roar when I'm driving it down the road, only to go away when I turn the wheel to the right. Body is in good condition. The 100k mile service has not been done. I bought it with 101k and the dealer said it wasn't necessary, so I took their word on it. Overall, it's in fair condition, not good or great.

I see where your coming from now. Rust is terrible and only gets worse over time. The wheel bearing is an easy replacement. The 100k mile maintenance can be costly on the v8 if you have to pay someone to do it. It sounds like a good deal if you get fair trade in value amd negotiate the price on the v6.

I know about what I want to pay for that, which is what Kbb says on it. As far as mine, I don't owe anything on it, so whatever I get is going to be my down payment. It's just down here, non-rusty vehicles outnumber the ones that have rust, so it's going to be a lot harder of a sale down here than it would be in in the Great Lakes area, or anywhere up north. Kbb says mine is worth about $6500 in fair condition, but who knows if I can get it in the middle of Arkansas.

For what it's worth, about a month ago I purchased a 2008 Sport V6 4X4. It's in very good condition, had 88K miles and has all options except for the navigation system. I payed $16,000. Based on different pricing guides and market prices I was seeing, I felt it was a fair deal.
