yea kbb says excellent is 9500... i emailed the guy and im going to see what he says... i asked if tehre were in major mechanical problems or exterior damage. but yea its prob too good to be true

I think there is a good chance it is legit, someone wants to get it off there property, yes the milage is low, but some of them retail for $3.5k and about $3k isnt that hard to beileve for a 4runner, a 4th gen yes it would be scam, but it could definetly be legit, plus he had to pay for that ad. I am not sticking up for the guy, but dont be discouraged, it could be real.

hopefully..... ill find out hopefully tomorrow.... and thats what i was thinkin too cause i heard a guy say his wife sold her limited 3rd gen 4wd or 3500 cause she jsut wanted it gone.

yeah mine on auction went for $1.8k 4x4 V6 5 Speed. Like its certianly possible. Keep your head up.

Not sure why the title says '98 unless the seller had the front bumper replaced with a '99+. Prolly wouldn't hurt to take a look at it, or have a mechanic check it out for you. And see if the seller will give you a carfax report. I'm a pretty firm believer in "you get what you pay for," but every once in a while, you can get lucky.

The guy will email you back today with an email starting with "sorry for the delayed response." He will then say the car is in another state, and that the transaction will be completed through ebay.

Heres an example:

Hello,

First of all I want to thank you for your interest for my car. I sell at this price($3,200) because i just finished the divorce with my husband.
When the divorce has finished i own this car. Now as a women i don't need. This car is in excellent working conditions, no scratches, flaws or any kind of damage, slightly used in 100% working and looking conditions and comes with a clear title.Has 71,000 miles, VIN# : 1j4ff48s6yl269825
From the beginning you have to know that for the payment I request only secure pay, I prefer the payment to be done using eBay services.
We will use a safe payment method because I am affiliated at eBay and I have a purchase protection account for $20.000..
The final price that I want for this car is $3,200 including shipping and handling.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
You will send me the money only after you will receive and test the car for 5 days.
I'll wait your decision regarding my car as soon as possible and if you want to make the deal, eBay will send you a letter with all instructions.

Regards.

lol its funny because, I was looking at that today.

This is what I want you to do.

go back to cars.com
search under Toyota, 4runner, no max $ and miles.
sort from lowest price

scroll down and you will see...

a crap load of the same listing, with the same picture, and same miles and same $ amount just different miles from you.

What he is doing is posting the same scam ads only changing location so when you search say within 50 miles, only 1 ad will pop out.

If you emailed him, guarantee the car is in another state. and he wants western union and some crap about his son moved and selling for him.

At the worst, he already sold your email to spam bots.

It's a scam. Typical email address of a scammer. Used paint to make the "note". I could pull up tons of these scams on craigslist in 5 minutes. Don't fall into the trap.

Does anyone have carfax "Henry" gave me the VIN number of the one that is supposed to be ready for shipment in GA.
