Good lift within a $300-$400 budget?

I'd like to put a 2 or 2.5 in lift on BB before crappy weather hits. I have about $400 that I can use for a lift and was hoping to get some suggestions on a decent lift. I'd rather skip spacers and go ome, but haven't been able to find something in my budget range.

You could do the Tundra TRD lift up front and OME 906 coils in the back, that will be 2" of lift. That should be about at your budget if not below it. If there is anything left over, get longer rear shocks.

Do you have a website or part number I can look at for the tundra trd lift?
 
Best bet is to piece it together from Craigslist and classifieds here. I did that, and got my entire setup for $360.
It does take a while to find the parts though, you just have to keep looking.
 
I just recently swapped out my rear OME's for a set of blisteins. They have just under 20k miles on them. Was going to put them up for sale here for $75 (plus shipping). They do look a little rough from being shredded by gravel on some roads, but a little sanding and paint (or not) and they'd be good as new!

Save up another 200-400 (spring?) and install a TRD/Billy/LC lift.

If you can find used TRD Coils (gives you time to hunt them down) it'll be a little cheaper.

Quick breakdown of costs:

1) Front TRD Coils (New $230 + SHipping)
2) Billy 5100's (220)
3) LC Coils (80)
4) LC Struts (100)
5) Drop bracket (50)
6) Installation costs?

Problem with this is you will want to run 33's and that will put you back down into 16MPG again =)

So maybe this isn't the best option...

CYG, how many miles on your 4Runner? If your existing shocks are still good, just track down some Tundra TRD springs and some OME 906's used. Probably looking at $250 total and reuse your shocks. Later, when budget allows, you can upgrade.

Guessing by your user name you're female, I can't imagine getting install help will be a problem for you.

I have about 204xxx on her and the shocks were replaced in 2009. That seems like an easy, inexpensive solution and it will give me time to save up.

And yes, I'm a girl. Install help is never in short supply and might need it for this, but I generally can hold my own.;):

I'm sure you can but it's a much easier job with 2 people.
