Not my cup of tea. I'm sure if you cut it good then it should look fine. In the near future I'm going to get some board and re-do my inner panels and cover them with a gray vinyl. The p/o put the diamond plate on the inside of the tailgate and I am not impressed with it. He didn't do a good job cutting it and it looks like a hack job.

What's his name up at CBI offroad is doing that, except I think he's used aluminum. I'm probably going to do the same with ABS plastic. I think it's a great idea, if you do it so you can access all that empty space for storage.

well thats kinda what im trying to do away with is the that space dont want to get rusted out. i have a small uws chest tool box in the back for storage. Im not gonna be cutting it per say. Going to use a press break. i dont think it will be that hard to do the aluminum diamond plate. i may send it back to general steel and get the diamond plate steel and rhino line it to somewhat match my box its black. i dont really like the polished chrome look. i had my smitty built bumpers painted and i have black wheels so i dont wont to mess that up.

Looks good in pics. I was looking at that last night thinking about doing something like that for mine.

got permission to use a water jet today so im on my way to nice smooth edges. im going to send the aluminum back and get the steel diamond plate since its going to be lined. hek of alot cheaper. Also going to put dynomat on back side to help seal it up and keep down road noise.
