Good price for a remote start?

Hello, its winter and i'm sick of freezing my tail off when I get in my car, so i've decided to get a remote start installed. This seems like something that you can easily get suckered on, so can you tell me if this is a good deal.

Crimestopper 2900er mark 7 for $300.00. I'll be paying for the following features.

1. 1 remote that includes all the functions of my previous remote...unlocking, back liftgate power down, etc...that has a button for the remote start as well.

2. They will have to bypass the alarm system for the start but it will work any other time.

3. 1000 yard range so I can start from my apartment.

Thats about it, i've got an offer for a viper system for the same price as well.

What do you guys think?

I can't give You any info about Crimestopper 2900er mark 7 but I can tell You that I just got remote starter installed and for Prestige APS-996A Remote Start Car Alarm w/LCD Remote and installation I paid 380$. It took a guy about 3 hours to install it and from prices I found on E-bay on this system I thing that this guy made about 200$ for installation.I have to also say that this was without any taxes because he did this at my garage. You have to do a little research how much this system cost and add to that bypass and rest is a price for installation.
I recommend You remote starter because there is nothing better than getting into a worm car that is ready to go.....

$300.00 seems to be the going rate installed with a bypass in my area, although this did mnot include the power window in lift gate. I was quoted an extra $35-40.00 to include that feature. Either way if you check DEI Inc web site they manufacture hat remote starts for just about every alarm company. The name is basically on the remote, everything else is the same. Good Luck, You'll be very happy once its installed.
