Good recovery strap.

I want to get a good strap for recovery before the winter starts. I'd like something that is a little better than the ones that you get at Autozone and the like. I saw a ProComp one for a decent price, but are their any others that are recommended that aren't too steep on price?

whats wrong with the 'autozone' ones? are they the yellows with loops at the end? ive never had an issue and the more you have/use the merrier

yeah i have autozones.... have had it for many years and not fraying or falling apart one bit.... used to pull many cars out of snow and mud (ha mud, that was a good one)...

I have an old one that I bought from the farm store years and years ago , still works fine but its old .

I was looking for a complete recovery kit . The are places that sell with new state of the art ropes and strap , shackle ect...

Depends on if you want a simple tow strap or an actual snatch/recovery strap. 99% of the crap you see, including AutoZone stuff, are tow straps. A real snatch strap is going to be 2-4 times the price of that stuff.

One of the best snatch strap makers is Keeper Corp.

As for the Pro Comp stuff, I have one, and the manual specifically says it's not for recovery/snatching.

4Wheel Parts Wholesalers got me once, but never again.

I actually did search but didn't really find the information I was looking for. For some reason the search feature on this forum is pretty much crap and makes you search through pages and pages of useless information before you find anything good.

The "autozone" ones have proven OK in the past, but like others have said they are actually for towing not recovery. I want a strap for recovery that will last me a looong time. I have already broken about 2 of the autozone ones and that was all on one wheeling incident.

I know I will pay more, and that's fine just was having trouble searching for a good strap for the money. I don't need anything super hardcore, just something actually designed for recovery. I'd like to spend about $50 or thereabouts but if its not doable, then I understand.
