Goodbye FJ - Hello 4R TE

Traded in the blue '07 FJ for a new Silver '10 4R TE with KDSS. Now I just need to get those lousy Dunflops off the 4Runner. What a difference in comfort level! The road noise is soooo much less than the FJ. Oh, and no more needing to buy premium gas will help the wallet.

same here! traded in my sun fusion FJ for a salsa red TE a week ago... LOVE it... and yes, the road noise is such a difference... I'll admit though, I miss the FJ

Is the 5th Gen really that much quieter than an FJ? I felt like my 08 FJ and 07 4Runner sport were about even wind noise wise and road noise wise when I had no rack on the roof of the FJ. When I added a Gobi rack the FJ got really noisy, but that was just the rack of course (and limited soundproofing in the roof to reduce rack noise). FJ's themselves seem pretty quiet to me.

Congrats on the new Trail Editions. Those look great. They remind me of the old FJ 60, but in a good and modern way. I think they are the true heir to the Land Cruiser tradition, at least much more so than the Land Cruiser they are selling in the USA right now.

I could tell right away when we test drove the 4Runner the diff between it and my '07 FJ. Maybe it's the roof rack I had on it? Maybe the diff in tires?

You still running the stock dunlops? If so, you will notice more noise as soon as you go with something more suitable for off-road.
