Hi all,
New guy here. I recently traded my 2008 Tundra Crewmax Limited for a 2011 T4R Limited 4x2 (don't get into the woods much but after reading some of your posts it does look like a lot of fun).
Loved the truck but it was time for a change. It was a great truck and never let me down. However, after much thought, I came to the conclusion that I really didn't need such a big vehicle.
Initially I went to the dealership, on a whim, to look and maybe get a brochure. But they happened to have the very model and trim I wanted in stock, and the numbers made so much sense that I ended up pulling the trigger and traded the Tundra.
The timing seemed right too. My friend, who was also my salesman, advised me that right now the large vehicles are dropping in value at the auctions because of gas prices, so now would be a good time to trade the Tundra before it gets worse. Not only that, but the dealer was put on notice by Toyota that for the next 2 months, there will be a major slow down in new car inventory (vehicles like the T4R that are still built in Japan) due to the recent earthquakes. Given that, and the fact they had a limited with everything I wanted as well in the color I liked on the lot, I decided to take the plunge.
So far I'm loving the ride and the increased MPG, not to mention I can still tow my trailer when needed.
I've only done some minor upgrades like the exhaust tip ($40k+ SUV and they don't include this makes me shake my head), hood protector, husky floor liners and cargo trays, and today I had the clear bra installed at the dealer. Believe it or not, the dealer had the best price in town on the clear bra.
So far this forum has been a great source and I thank you all for your valuable information.
