I was out goofin off today ( like I do everyday) stopped at the GY store to look at the SA tires . Pretty nice looking tires (not that that matters) .

Anyway just for comparison sake , he quoted me on "P" rated ones , $804.00 inc. mt. bal. tax, ect...

Pretty expensive little buggers

Size was 265/70/17 after I finally convinced him thats what I was running on my truck and I upsized from the stock 65 series. The guy argued up and down, impossible !!! they will not fit on my truck.....had to drag him out and show him the Revos on there . Some of these store mgr's. ..... I don't know where they get them.

Anyway , nice looking tread pattern & he also talked a little about the compound , but by that time I had lost interest in talking with him and was more interested in looking at the woman sitting in the waiting room and what she was wearing since its 90* here today.

Check out the July issue of Car and Driver somewhere around page 34.. there is a silent armor ad with a 4runner in it.

i'd like to see someone do a before and after test to see how much road noise these tires reduce from stock

I think that these tires are standard on some (or all) '07 H2 instead of BFG AT KO. I have heard very good things about them, but i have not had the chance to try it out.

I have a set of SA in 275/70/17. I have had them for about 3,000 miles. They have been great so far, quiet and smooth.

Which rating do you have "P" "C" ???

I'd like to try these. The guy at the GY store said he would not recommend the "C" rated unless you have a heavy vehicle and pulling heavy loads ....

There is a 3/32 diff. in tread depth from "P" to "C" rated.

Do they make Goodyear SA's in the stock SE size (265/65 R17)? I'd like to replace the Dunlops on the 4R SE I don't have yet (I'm hours away from getting it though! :biggrin2: ) and haven't heard of Goodyear making them in this size. It wouldn't be a big deal for me to go one size up, but I would prefer the stock size.

You will have to go up 1 size to the 70's.

IMO with the looks of a bigger tire, a little add'l ground clearance , 70 series tires are cheaper and much bigger variety available , why stay with stock size ? It has no effects on the truck except a very slight speedo difference.

BUT !!! you should/need to upgrade your spare to the same size .

gkatmar......did you happen to have that size good year (275s) before you did your lift? I'm wondering if there was any rubbing? I have the 2" front 1" rear lift and would like to get that same size. Thanks!

No I got them after the lift. I don't think you would have any problems. The rear would definetly be fine. You would have to trim some in the front though for sure. But I do still have my front mud guards.
