Hello,
I'm getting some leaks from one of my tires along the edge of the tread/sidewall. It's in the tread, between the first treads along the edge of the sidewall. There's no nails but that area has quite a bit of cracking in the tread that appears to be dry rot. Since there's nothing to plug I tried fix-a-flat but that helped for a while but then it started leaking again. The first time I check it was leaking from about 3 places, all along this edge. Last night it was only leaking at one spot so I put a plug in it. Since there was no nail, I had to drill a hole. I then checked again for leaks. No leak from this spot but now it's leaking from 4 other spots. It's almost like there's some sort of internal delamination that runs along that edge and the comes out via cracks.
The tires have 60,000 miles on them but they have a lot of tread left. I'd guess they'd go another 20,000 so I don't want to replace them yet.
I wonder if anyone else has ever seen this and if anyone knows if an internal patch will fix this problem.
I've never, EVER seen tires do this. I will never buy Goodyear.
BTW, I'm not the original owner so I probably can't get warranty coverage. I DO have the receipts though.
