I have 285/70 17. I am VERY happy with them. Smooth, Quiet, excellent traction on and off road. I have approx 20,000 miles on mine, and still appears to have full tread. I didn't want a full blown mud terrain, like the MTR's I had on my 85 4Runner, for this 2007 Sport Ed. V8, and I couldn't be happier.

These tires are rad! I have them on my '04 and they are just slightly more noisy than a regular all terrain tire! I would highly recommend them.

I had a two sets of them back when I had a taco. My first set was 265/75/16 C load ranges. I ran those for about 27k miles until I swapped them out for a set of 285/70/17 D load range like the poster above. I loved them and offroaded them quite a bit. They were a little louder on road than other AT's but the tread pattern is more aggressive so that's to be expected. They did great in snow & ice (what little snow we get here in GA). When I sold my first set, they had plenty of tread lift left on them after 27k.
The only reason I opted for BFG AT's on my Tundra is bc the price for 275/70/18 BFG's was amazing compared to all the rest ($700-ish OTD).
Went with the Hankook ATM's on the wife's 4runner because they're a lot quieter. She drives about 80 miles a day round trip commute on the highway.

How are road manners on these so far as highway goes? Wandering at speed? Vibration? Cornering stability?
I'll admit I'm a 95% DD/pavement driver, but if the road manners align well enough, I'd love to have the looks of these coupled with their offroad capabilities for the times I do go in the snow/sand/dirt/gravel.
I need to drive/ride in a car with a set of these on....

I'm 99% on road too but I like having the added traction when offroad.
Wandering is a result of caster and tire pressure. They shouldn't wander more than anything else. I will say they were much better behaved in wet weather than the Toyo AT's I had before them. Those Toyos would break loose at every stop light.
I had no vibration issues. They balanced fine (both sets). They'll be noiser than most AT's because of the more aggressive tread pattern but not as bad as a a mud terrain. They corner fine, however driving a lifted vehicle, I don't try to push the limits of cornering very much. I'll stick to testing the twisties in a car.

Your Sig indicates you have LT 265/70/17 tires.
Do you know if the tire will fit in the spare tire location?
My BFG-AT-KO's 265/70/17 fit with about 1in clearance.

It should. Some have rubbing but very minimal. It also depends on the tread pattern. Mud tire or a bgg a/t may be more prone to rubbing. To help you out I put a set of 265/70/17 all terrain tires on my sisters stock 2004 v6 4w4 and she has no rubbing at all.

You might rub on the passenger side fender liner at full lock when turning left. When I put the 265/70/17 hankook ATM's on my wife's runner, I found it was rubbing on the little nub/bulge in the fender liner where the washer fluid reservoir is. You'll see it if you look under there. Some quick plastic (pun intended) surgery with a sharp utility knife fixed the rubbing.
