Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour?

I am ditching the stock Dunlops on my 2006 4Runner, they aren't worth the powder to blow them to hell! I'm thinking about getting a set of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours. I run them on my pick-up and they work great. My question is, about sizing. They don't make the OEM size (265/65/17). The closest size is 265/70/17. Anyone have or know of any issues with changing the tire size?

Lots of people run that size here. Do a search and you'll see it is a popular "mod"

Is this as big a tire as I can go without lifting or will 275's fit?

I believe 275/70-17 will rub in the front without at least a 1"- 2" spacer lift at the minimal. These tires will mount in the rear without any mods to the stock setup. I believe you can just lift the front up with a 1" spacer to level off the truck and then put 275's on it. You will still have to trim the lower triangle plastic piece from the front fender area. Do a search on this forum just to make sure before buying these tires.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to order the tires today and was told that it would be 4 - 6 weeks. Apparently the Goodyear strike has tapped out their stock. Two different dealers told me that there wasn't a Wrangler Silent Armour in North America!!

Damn that sucks , looks like a nice tire. Are you going to wait it out or get something else ?

I don't know if I live with the Dunlops that long, I'll probably look for something else.

I had looked at the Nokian WR SUV tires. Probably not as good off road but they are supposed to be great on snow and in the wet.
