GoPro Longer Group buy

I have been using this product for a long time and have found the company to be absolutely fantastic in supporting the product. It allows you to plug your GoPro directly into any USB port and never need to stop recording because your battery needs to be changed every 15 minutes.

Anyone that uses a GoPro could benefit from this product. It enables you to keep your eyes on the road and not worry if the GoPro is recording....your only limitation would be the size of memory card you have. Now that being said $180 is a crazy price for what it is. I was expecting $99 with a 20% discount.

Can't you already run the GoPro straight off the built in USB charging port? What's so unique about this? Unless you plan to use it for 24x7 dash cam recording or something, that's about the only benefit I see. I carry 3 batteries with my GoPro Hero 2 and get a good 1hr+ out of each of them when recording 1080p.

Only benefit being you can put it outside the vehicle with the case. I use mine inside mounted on the dash.

First of all, this is water proof. Also, using a USB to power your GoPro will heat up the camera. This system uses a battery eliminator. So while your solution is a temporary work around, this one provides a permanent solution. A lot of you have seen my rig with this system on it. I mount the LongShot to my front bumper and plug it right into a USB port. I would suspect that you would not want to expose your $400 camera to any type of harsh environment w/o a case? To use the usb as a power system , you cannot use the case to protect it. With this system you can.

Ah OK, didn't think about the waterproofing benefit. I don't normally run mine off the charger either so I haven't had any USB issues. It definitely seems like a good alternative for very extended use of the camera like in professional environments. I wouldn't say that GoPro designed their camera to be used with this system though. More this system was designed as an alternative to carrying multiple batteries. Definitely pretty cool though!

What I meant about the GoPro being designed for this was it simply replaces the OEM battery. Multiple batteries is ok to use ( I have about 20 LOL) but if you are running a trail or out wheeling, I use this system and record at 4K w/o worrying about having to stop the video and change a battery every 15 minutes. I just press record and go.
