Well finally made a decision and got an overhead DVD system installed in our new 4Runner. Trying to decide on which one was very difficult because there just isn't very much info on the net regarding the various players. I was leaning towards the Vizualogic Quantum, but was not able to find any that I could see locally. So I went with the Alpine unit. The install looks pretty nice, and the 10" screen is just about right. It is almost too big given how close it is to the rear seat passengers. The screen is nice and bright and can be easily seen from the 3rd row seats.
I had it wired up so that the sound plays through the aux input in the center console. The picture quality is very nice and luckily it is hard to see the DVD system from the outside of the car. In order to be just a little safer I'm going to tint the front windows also. I haven't photographed it yet but when I do I'll post some here.
