Got brake vibration, pull or bad MPG's? This might be your fix

So I drove 250mi to GA and got about 10MPG's, brakes pulsated durring stops and it was pulling to the left. So I was going to get new pads and have the rotors turned at my local shop. We they couldnt turn the rotors because they are to large. Decided to throw the pads at it anyways. But when I was trying to get the pistons pressed back in the caliper both the outer pistons on the passenger side were locked up and another one on the driver's side.

FIX---

Remove the rubber boots. Spray with WD40 of PB Blaster. Get the old pads or a few pieces of flat stock, place them between the pistons smack a chizle between em' to break the pistons loose. Then you can just use the C-clamp to put pressure on the piston and hit it with a hammer repeatedly and eventually they will fully depress.

Now install the calipers. Again throw the old pads back in temporarily (no pins). Bleed brakes then depress them until the pistons are full out. Using a pry bar, pull the pistons back in and repeat the process a few times using generous amounts of spray.

My brakes have never worked so well and my gas milage on the way home was 16mpg rolling at about 80 the whole 250mi. The pulsating is also gone and I didn't even turn the rotors. Oh yeah it stops mo betta too.

The problem will come back. You need to rebuild your calipers and change your brake fluid. or Now is a good to up grade to tundra calipers and rotors.

hmmm interesting..so basically u took out the caliper and did a good clean on it, then bled the brake fluids? How does it affect gas milages? and where in GA did u go?

I have a lot of vibration/chatter when I brake if the brakes are hot. I was going to do new rotors and pads, but I will also do what you suggested.

Also, at certain speeds my steering wheel gets a little back and forth jitter. I dont think it's balancing/alignment related because it did it with my old wheels and tires and I have had an alignment. Could it be that one brake piston is sticking just a little? or would you think its something else like steering rack bushings?
