Got broken into last night

I HATE DC. Some bas**** busted out my passenger window and stole my Garmin and craftsman tool set. Also scratched the sh!t out of the door (not the cool pinstripes I've been collecting on the trail) and put a 1/2" tear in the middle of the passenger seat from stepping on the broken glass. Fortunately, the ARB fridge and my recovery gear was untouched. Be careful guys.

ah man. that sucks bro. Sorry to hear that. You need to move your ass across the river and living in arlington....like me :-)

Sorry to hear that, I hope the damage gets fixed correctly, so that insult isn't added to injury.

People stealing stuff - It's the sort of thing that makes me want to have the alarm in the truck trigger a tear gas canister.

Alas, it's why I moved. And taxes.

I had the exact same conversation this morning (although in a more heated tone) with my girlfriend. I already was not crazy about living in Columbia Heights, but my gf is in law school in DC (I work in McLean).

I really feel violated, and from now on I won't feel comfortable leaving ANYTHING in the truck, which sucks since I just installed and wired my Fridge. Really sucks having to lug 100% of my camping/recovery gear to our 4th floor condo every other weekend.

The same happened to my daughter last week in Baltimore. Stole her GPS that was in the glove box, burned 2 holes in the passenger seat from a dropped cigarrette and trashed the interior looking for anything of worth. I am so glad that she is moving out of that city.

Sorry to hear that, man. I had my 05 Tacoma broken into TWICE within 6 months when I lived in Crystal City. I'm hoping I'm not a victim of that **** anymore (*knock on wood*) because it ****ing sucks. Sorry you've got to deal with it.

Dude - sorry to hear that. I've got to second the Arlington move. I never felt unsafe in Balston.

Arlington had a huge rash of vehicle break-ins last year (see my comment). It was my understanding that the Arlington police eventually broke up the ring (being run out of Detroit or somewhere in mid-west if IIRC). But, my truck was hit twice in Arlington. The building I'm in now had a break-in around the same time, and I know of three buildings in Ballston (not while I lived there) that were hit and four in Courthouse. Probably not as bad as DC, but it definitely happens here...

Ouch...hadn't heard about that. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't upgrade to a nice truck until a month before I moved!! I don't think my old '99 Tahoe looked worth breaking into....and it wasn't.

I had been cooling off throughout the day, until on the drive home from work (windows down, not that there was a choice) I realized they also stole my 1 month old Viair 300p compressor and got re-pissed off.

Thanks for the support guys. On a somewhat positive note I'll be installing an ARB awning tomorrow and the Gobi ladder is on it's way. I'll just have to make sure that **** is bolted down extra tight.

I can ship you a couple of hungry rattlesnakes. :wow2:

It's a lot more fun to watch the news a day later and see the poor bas**** crying about a snake bite. Much more fun than beating the crap out of him. Plus, it can be done from the sofa.....:hiding:

Sorry Joneseyyy. I know the feeling all too well from some past break-ins. It's not just the fact that they take your stuff, they just don't have any care whatsoever for your property, and just break stuff for no reason.

F-ers!!

Once you get things back together, you should come to the Antman garage for a mod session. We can run a wire from your 120V outlet to your drivers seat frame and shock the sh!t out of the ba$****$ next time!!!

Seriously welcome for a mod session, tho:jump:

Mod session is on. I think it is time for on board (more difficult to steal) air.
