Got Hit and Run... Help needed.

Hey guys well my 4runner was hit in the university parking lot today and the douche left while in class... i came out and found my car had been hit from the rear passenger side.

Well i need help finding these cheap parts... the rear passenger's bumper end and the sport/limited fender flare to go with it. I was able to find a black bumper end piece on ebay for $50, also checked Certifit but not sure how the prices work. Im having trouble trying to find the fender flare tho...

If anyone has some pieces laying around of a rear end replacement please let me know bc i would love to get these replaced soon. I will not be going through insurance since i dont think its worth the price increase that will follow.

$50 is a steal for that rear piece other than that you will have to paint it. I had the same thing happen to me a couple years back on the drivers side. Luckily after asking around at school I found the girl 2 weeks later. She paid for it all after I contacted her parents :D It ended up being like $225 for a brand new bumper piece and mounts, but it came color matched. Although I'm sure you can get the new one matched for much less than that.

Have you thought about leaving it like it is for a while and saving up for a off-road bumper? Maybe one from Savage or Addicted?

I wish I would have taken the $225 and done that..
 
That sucks. My girlfriends Jeep GC got hit a couple of months back while she was at the beach and the damage ended up being close to 3k. She had to go through insurance and it was 1k for the deductable. Really ruins your day when that happens.
 
Go to the school security office and I'm sure they got it on camera. Then call the police and report him. Hit and run is a felony, he will go to jail. I'll bet you'll get a license plate # on the footage. I can't imagine a college campus doesn't have survellience.
 
well UTSA has two campuses and only the architecture building downtown has cameras in the parking lot. I was at the main campus and since they have 18 parking lots they said they dont have cameras and i filed a police report but i doubt ill find out who it was...

Ya i figured $50 on ebay would be the cheapest and just need it color matched and then find the fender flare piece.
 
damn man sorry to hear that. if i were u i'd go out there and check the front ends of the cars and see which had damage. then play smart and tell the guy u saw him hit ur rig and better pay up. i hate when ppl do this stuff...

Bummer. Well, it could be much worse, at least the body didn't take damage, it probably would have if you weren't lifted. It looks like you'll be able to touch up the paint on the middle bumper piece.
 
If you have good comprehensive insurance, it shouldn't raise your premium...

My comprehensive deductible is only $100, and if this happened to me (painted limited flare, bumper, etc), I would go insurance on it and have it all redone nicely.

Ouch!

It's one thing for trail damage, but for someone to do that in a parking lot and jet that's so not cool.

Ya Tim i thought bout that but most likely the car prob ended up leaving or parking in a diff lot... UTSA had 19 lots plus garages and all that stuff and they are huge (way too many cars).

Brian i was talking to my friend and we said the same thing... i wish i had my 2' BL and 35s bc i think the damage wouldve been even less but much to say its a major plus to have the lift for sure. haha Oh and i do have some touch up paint (same color as the rig) that i got from the dealership a while back and i plan to use that on the other fender flare pieces and the center bumper piece.

GPtoy: exactly dude... if it was trail related or something then like i wouldnt be as pissed as i am right now. But they will have wats coming to them (karmas a B****)

Well remember what time of day it happened and where it happened. Around this time next week same day, scour the lot, you'll probably find your culprit
 
man, that totally blows! Saame thing happened to my sisters runner. While she was in class somebody did the same thing. Funny thing is a witness saw it happen and recorded the license. My sister went to campus police AND the regular police and they wouldnt do anything about it. Something about could have got the plate wrong, had to witness in person blah blah blah. What do we pay taxes for anyways? oh yeah, gotta keep all those pot smokers in jail. This was in North Carolina btw.

You wont wnat to hear this but i saw a guy here locally with both limited passenger flares for sale, he was asking $150. he kept posting for like 6 months, I kept laughing at it wondering who would want to buy just one side, and who would pay that much. No i know why. I just checked and its not there anymore but if i see it come up again ill let you know.

I second the aftermarket bumper if youre gonna go out of pocket anyways. Then next time the only damage will be on the offending idiots car.
 
Ya i know wat u mean... that is crazy $150 for a single piece? that guy must be out of his mind. Im tempted if i cant find one for a decent price then ill just end up taking off the other one and run without them tho id rather have them since it looks nicer to me and i wont get sh*t from cops bout no mud flaps.

The only reason i dont wanna get a rear bumper replacement is that i DONT like the tube bumpers on 4runners well at least not on mine so if i were to get one id have to find a custom one like BruceTS's or CBI's which is around $600-800. That is way too much since i can do all the labor myself excluding paint and prob get out doing it for $150 or less (depending upon cost of flare of course)

I'd send you mine (I have a right one that has a small dent) that I'd give to you but it is chrome.
 
i wonder if it could be painted? ya i have no money right now to fix it so gonna have to use my birthday money ill be getting in a week.
