Got hit yesterday, looking for advice on part..

howdy all -

on my way to get a haircut yesterday some idiot jumped a green light and hit my passenger side rear wheel and the passenger rear door fender flare broke off.

his late 90's acura integra however was WAY messed up.

i can deal with the wheel scratches but am looking for advice on where i can find that portion of the fender flare to get replaced? hopefully not using my insurance for this as it's pretty cheap but i can't find anything.

I was cited for failure to yield.

I imagine my deductible if $500, I can't imagine this is a $500 problem and would like to avoid making the claim.

Not to get your thread off topic but if he was at fault, go through the process and get your car inspected...your deductible doesnt apply if he was at fault.

considering the acura jumps a GREEN light, and that he was the one that was cited for failing to yield, i dont think the acura was at fault. i am led to believe he ran the end of a yellow/red light.

Regardless the law states you have the right to clear the intersection once you enter it on green.

My insurance company is investigating it, and if it turns out I'm not at fault of course I'll have mr. no-speaky-english's insurance company pay for it, if not - and I'm at fault - I don't want to pay $500 to fix this crap.

i completely agree with you that you do have the right of way, but i understand why it would have to be investigated. im on your side though. im surprised mr no english even had insurance. thats my biggest worry out here.

you can get the unpainted one and get the duplicolor perfect match spray paint and paint it yourself?

During the 12 years I've owned my 4Runner LTD I've had all 4 replaced at one time or another. The stealership charges a **** ton to replace them. But, I wouldn't have any other shop do it. One time I had Maaco do it. Oh man. Big migstake. Yeah, they were cheaper. But, so was their work.
