Got my new ride this week

Been spending all day cleaning carpets and interior. Washing and polished with turtle wax ice. Painted Reese hitch and plasti dipped center caps. The paint on my roof rack is peeling. Looks like I can just loosen a few screws and take it off to paint . Anyone done this? Any problems I need to know about? Thanks everyone.

Good looking rig. Welcome to another dorado gold owner. Yea u can just pull the rack and paint. A dab of silicone on the screws helps when reinstalling.

Checked out your pics Kyle. Looking good. I love those led lights in the dash. I have 160 k on mine too but no problems that I can find. Hope I have one of those that goes to 300k!

Is there any kind of sealant,under the rack itself or just seal,the screws when I put it back on?

Just seal the screws and you'll be golden.

Sounds like I've got another project for tomorrow. Kyle I like the look with no running boards. I thought of taking mine off but I would have to carry a step stool around for my wife to get in.

My girl is 5'2" and 110. Lifted and sitting on 33's. no running boards. It's worth it making her jump.

Yea mine complained for a bit but she got used to it. I would wait a bit and be 100% sure u want them off first. There are times I actually miss mine.

First thing I am doing when I get 4r to me is taking off the running boards. My kids will hate me, but if they can get into the Tahoe, they'll be able to get into the 4R.

I trip over them. And hit my shins on them. GONE GONE GONE.

I hope I don't miss them. evah.
