Got New HU - can't read it in the daylight!!

So...I had a new Pioneer installed on Monday morning. Picked up the 4R and drove home. On the way, I realized that it was impossible to see the blue numbers on the display from the drivers position on a sunny day! You have to be a contortionist to get to the right angle to read it! :wtf:
I figured maybe there was a contrast setting that needed to be changed. I couldn't find one so I went back today to complain. The install guy said the one in his car is hard to see too. I explained that I did not care what his did :bash: And that I didn't like it and want to know what they will do about it. They won't refund my money, but they will install another stereo of a comparable value. I spent $179 on the unit I have now.
Can any of you offer a brand or model that doen't have blue numbers? Or advise me of one that you can read in the daylight?

What did you get?

Also i think its Poineer that has orange color and also Kenwood (multi color). These 2 you should see fine and also match rest of your interior at night.

To me it has to match at night or looks weird. Only bad thing about my HU even tho its a flip out screen there 4 Blue buttons that still annoy me.

Thathappens on my Hu also. But if you turn mine off then I think hit the function button or hold it down or something. There is a brightness adjustment in there. Maybe for yours also.

Most aftermarket head units I've seen do not have very good displays in bright sunlight... Just about every one of them out there looks really 'cheap' looking, too... I'd stay with stock, honestly... It at least looks like it was made to be in that vehicle, etc...

I have the same problem only with a SOny HU. Nothing worked as good as the Eclipse i had before, but kinda pricey.

The Pioneer 5800mp has a orange display. I have the 7800mp in my 99 SR5 right now and have no problem seeing the multicolor display during bright days. Pending on what unit you have you should be able to adjust the brightness by using the multi-control.
