government advance already spent?

well i guess they did something like this back in the 80's i was told, and it did help a little bit

but from what ive been hearing alot of people are gonna use it to pay off credit card bills

i heard the checks should come in may!
 
Is there like a maximum income?
I head for single, you can't make more than $85,000 in 2007. And for joint, you can't make more than $120,000 in 2007. Is this true or are the numbers too high.

Okay......what about doctors/surgeons/dentists, that all can make well over 120k single? Not to mention all of the other professions like real estate, etc.

They don't get squat....and they don't need it either.

Forget docs and dentists, anyone in middle management or above makes at least a six-figure salary in my company. $120K is really no big deal these days. A lot more people make that kind of money than you would imagine.

Oh I know it, here in Orange County kids work for their parents right out of highschool and make 100K+ a year. Stupid brats don't even go to college. Their parents are things like contractors.

i've only been working since this summer, but i'm still going to file my income taxes. will i still get some of the money?


with my money i'm probably gonna save it up and maybe buy some new tires or a flip out dvd player :bigok:

Wait, so is this "government advance" on top of the normal tax refunds?? So if I were to get $300-$500 from tax refunds I would now get $600+???
 
I tried google and the IRS website and didn't find anything official. There was one article that said IF the bonus is approved it would net between $300 and $600 to individuals.

I am leaning toward the Bushwackers but they are too dang much for some plastic, I may have a shop just fab some up with flare type material-I am seriously into the subwoofer shopping right now....

Okay everyone let's not get too excited-if the government does this like the last time-(2001 I read) -it will be an advance against your income tax refund. In this case- for 2008 tax year as I understand it. So if you earn and file in 2008 and are getting a refund next year (for 2008)-they will deduct the money they will advance you in May 2008. I hope I am wrong and this money is in addition to any tax refund but I don't think so, otherwise how could the Feds possibly pay for it? If you file and end up having to pay taxes in 2009 for 2008, then the amount you will have to pay back would include this advance. Again, hope I am misunderstanding but this is what I have read in the Sunday, Denver Post Business section-Wall St Journal subsection on Sunday 1/20/08.
