GPS night mode

Hey you guys, I have a question about turning on the night mode for the gps. The white screen is too bright for me while driving at night. I read in the maunual that you can change it to night mode when press the display button. When I press it there's on brightness and contrast adjustment and also a screen off function, there is no night mode even when driving at night with headlight turned on. Does anyone know how to turn it on? Thanks

On the dimmer switch just to the left of the steering wheel, turn it all the way up just before you get resistance and it clicks. Clicking it will leaving the screen bright, turning it until you get resistance will keep it at night mode.

On a side note, does anyone know how to change the settings so you can input address info, destination, etc into the nav while driving instead of having everything go gray?

Correct, you can also check in setup and turn off the "DAY MODE" function. (where you saw brightness/contrast - button at top "DAY MODE", turn that OFF)

This has been discussed quite a lot. Short answer, you can't without using an override module. You can always enter that information via the voice system, but it does take patience. Search the forums for "nav lockout" , "nav override", etc. Search is your friend on this. In fact, just as I went to "page 2" of these forums I found a great thread without even searching, using the amazing technology of "SIGHT" :)

I do what was mentioned above, just take the dimmer one click down. Then set it on daytime running lights and it will adjust itself to light and dark depending on outside lighting conditions.

I really like the Nav. My only gripe is that you can't look for points of interest while driving. But, you can look for presets. Also, you can use the voice feature and input an address that way. The voice activated feature is very easy to use. If you go into settings you can turn off the voice activation instructions which makes it go alot faster.
