I am new here and I have a 2007 4Runner SR5. I had a Garmin Nuvi-360 in my car but some A*****E broke the driver's side window and got away with it. Now I am really thinking about getting a in-dash Navigation. I was thinking about after market one.... but need help to decide.
Also, now I really regret for not getting the LTMD with NAV and the whole 9 yards.....
Recently, I started doing some research and discovered this forum, which is a probably the best place to get info about any type of 4Runner.
I found one dealer who is willing to install Eclipse AVN 5510 for $1799.oo + VA tax. This will include an I-pod hook-up and told me that I will have a full control of Ipod thru' HU. On top of this, the guy over there told me that there will be no LOCKS, Restrictions etc on the GPS -- Meaning i can search POI, input new addresses - while driving.
I just want to know if this is a good price or am I getting ripped off. Through this forum, I found out about OEMVALUE.com-- they sell OEM NAV HU but I did not see anything that fits 2007 4runner.
Is it a good idea to get a OEM NAV and install it or go with Eclipse AVN 5510.
I really need some advise from you guys...... Please help me out to decide. I live in Norther Virginia Area and would really appreciate if you could even recommend me to someone in this area who know how to install these things. I am willing to let go up to $2K for a good GPS NAV.
Thanks a lot..
