Well it was getting old driving around town and Ruffian thinking I was driving through cow pastures. "No girl, it's ok we're going this way." They used to be cow pastures back in 2002, but now it's a new main thoroughfare as sadly the cow men were forced to sell off land to make room for more McMansions, strip malls and misguided "improvement" by developers. I rather liked the open fields. Friends laughing at me as I took the scenic route. I kept saying, I'm not lost I'm sight seeing.
The best was driving out on a Bay Area bridge after a trip out to Santa Cruz/San Fran. Ruffian was very upset I chose not to follow her guidance back home along an old bridge route and instead I was driving out onto open waters. She got very frustrated. "Please make an immediate u-turn at the next available spot. Turn left." When I didn't do that, she really started to stutter at her confusion and I'm assuming fear that we were going to drown & death was immanent to all her electrical connections. "Please make a.....Turn....At the next available...Turn....Now at the next available...Please make a....Please make a...." all the way across the bridge. I'm quite sure I heard a distinct sigh of relief via the speakers when we made it over to Hwy 680 and back on solid ground.
My Scottish friend riding shotgun had brought his Garmin with him, loaded with John Cleese's voice. Ruffian and John were both arguing with each other since John must of had only a slightly newer map. It was quite comical and I wish I had video taped it. Not that you could of heard much over their bickering and my friends & I laughter.
Anyway, $179 later and I have the latest update DVD. She has for sale at different times various updates, and right now a 2006 Lexus/Toyota model is for sale. Send her an email if you need to get your girl a new set of maps. I shall miss Ruffian's frustrated sigh of "Well, I don't know where the chuck we are."
