Gravel roads chipped away at my undercarriage paint

I drove about 80 miles this weekend on gravel roads. Rinsed off the undercarriage last night and to my dismay I noticed several areas that are almost bare metal now as the black coating is gone! Areas include running board support brackets, kdss cover plate, and other random areas. Should I just spray those areas affected with rustoleum?

POR-15 or similar rust converter, not just paint

POR 15 will peel in areas over existing paint. I stopped using it while ago. Just use any regular paint for bare metal spots (rustoleum is fine) since you are not trying to cover rust.

wire brush and black rust paint. I do trips of days of gravel roads, and I touch up things a couple times a year. no big deal.

Thanks for the feedback. It's strange, I have driven on lots of gravel roads in many different vehicles and I have never noticed this on any other vehicle. May be due to the fact that most other vehicles use the rubberized coating on the frame and undercarriage.
