Grease on regulator

Need help on window regulators. What kind of grease do I need to use. I use some standard gear grease and it worked great until it got cold outside. Should I have used white grease?
Thanks

I sprayed mine down with white grease in a can...should've rolled the window up first though...what a freaking mess.:bash:

Regulator Grease

I would have used white grease, but the manual just says multi-purpose grease.

Don't feel like the Lone ranger...I took spray silicone to the rubber window moulding on the back window to try and make it slicker. I thought it would make the window work better. I scrubbed the stuff off the glass for weeks.
Thanks for the help on the grease.

Thanks for the help. I'll clean off the multi-purpose grease and try white stuff. It just seems like the MP grease got thicker when the weather got colder.
Thanks again.

White grease dries into a film...doesn't feel like traditional grease but it is made for linkages and window parts...says so on the can so it must be true...
