The park recently built a road around the perimeter of the park for emergency access. The trail in the photos is next to a popular set of extreme rock crawling trails, but to get to the bottom of the bluff requires a either a well-equipped off-road rig for descending, or wind through a long narrow wooded trail with a flood zone (I've extracted several trucks from the flood zone). So I suspect the park (or park's lawyer) realized that an access road was needed here, and sadly they sacrificed one of our favorite articulation trails.
