I'd be curious to see how much a complete wiring job would cost to get this running.

OMG that is nasty. You could probably get all the interior wiring from a salvage yard for $300, but you need also need some seats and windshield to drive it. I think your best bet would be to get a donor 4runner with a bad engine or transmission and swap parts around. You could try to put the wiring harness and interior in this one, but might be better to move the mechanical bits from this krispy critter to the other 4runner. I think the burned smell will be hard to get rid of...

If he was asking scrap value I’d be tempted to buy it just to see if it could be revived, but he’s asking more than I paid for mine and I drive it home

For $500 thats a rust free frame. Or a perfect solid axle swap candidate. Never understood why clean 4x4s are tracked and cut up when you could use a 2WD which is cheaper.

Got the expensive brake master pump and as he claims, it got new drive belts too.

If it was a 5 speed 4x4, I'll take it for $1000.
